The Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) published its final statistics for 2025 on 4 July 2026. Germany hosted 304 trade fairs during the year, with 191,990 exhibiting companies, 6,907,200 square metres of net rented exhibition space and 12,748,000 visitors; 158 of those events were classified as international or national trade fairs. Year on year, exhibitor numbers rose 0.7%, rented space 0.4% and visitor numbers 1.9%, while international exhibitors rose 1.5% and international visitors 2.9%. At those 158 international and national trade fairs, exhibitors from outside Germany accounted for 66% of exhibitors and visitors from abroad for 33% of visitors. By origin, China supplied the largest share of foreign exhibitors at more than 18%, ahead of Italy at around 11%, the Netherlands at 5%, Spain at 4.5% and the United States and Türkiye at 4.4% each. AUMA's companion annual publication, Trends 2026/2027, is built around industry trends and interviews and carries a first-quarter 2026 forecast of a 2.3% fall in exhibitors, a 4.6% fall in rented space and a 0.9% rise in visitors.
