The Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) reports that Hong Kong hosted 152 large-scale exhibitions (defined as events occupying 2,000 sq m or more) in 2025, surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the first time. The Trade and Trade-Consumer segment comprised 95 events, an 18.8% increase over 2024, while consumer exhibitions numbered 57. Trade show visitors reached 1.62 million, a 10.9% year-on-year increase, representing 87% recovery relative to the 2019 baseline of 1.86 million; consumer exhibition visitor figures were not separately disclosed. Total exhibition space rented exceeded 924,000 sq m, up 11.5%. Exhibiting companies in the trade segment numbered approximately 47,000, declining 8% across all geographic sectors, with international exhibitors recording the sharpest drop of 18.8%. Mainland China visitors were the only geographic segment to exceed pre-pandemic attendance, registering 10% above 2019 levels, while Mainland exhibitors declined 7.8%. Infrastructure expansion continued with AsiaWorld-Expo Phase 2 targeting a total capacity of 100,000 sq m, and a proposed KITEC trade space of over 11,285 sq m. Hong Kong hosted the UFI Global Congress in 2025, drawing over 600 industry leaders from more than 50 countries and regions, reaffirming its standing as a leading Asia-Pacific exhibition hub.
