The JNTO International Conference Statistics 2024 is an annual official survey published by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), a government-affiliated entity under Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The report documents international conferences held in Japan in 2024, where JNTO's criteria require participation from three or more countries and a minimum of 50 attendees. Japan hosted 1,702 international conferences in 2024 — a 23.7% year-on-year increase — attracting 1,241,049 total participants, including 158,934 foreign delegates and 1,082,115 domestic attendees. A cumulative 5,200 conference days were recorded, averaging 3.06 days per event. In-person conferences numbered 1,184 (69.6%) and hybrid events 518 (30.4%). Science, technology, and natural sciences dominated with 868 conferences, followed by medicine (372) and politics, economics, and law (147). Tokyo's 23 wards led in foreign participant concentration with 51,724 attendees, followed by Kyoto (22,131) and Yokohama (17,711).
