The Netherlands staged 509 fairs in 2025, 31 fewer than the year before and a fall of 5.7 percent, leaving the count 9.1 percent below 2019. Trade fairs fell to 195 from 204, a decline of 4.4 percent, while consumer fairs fell to 314 from 336, a decline of 6.5 percent, so the sharper contraction sat on the consumer side. Attendance moved the other way. Total visits held at around 4.7 million and rose slightly again, up 1.4 percent, although the figure remains 20.2 percent below the 2019 total. Horecava was the largest trade fair of the year with 72 thousand visits and a large increase, ahead of Bouwbeurs Utrecht on 67 thousand, with Rundvee & Mechanisatie Vakdagen and IBC each on 45 thousand. The 25 largest trade fairs together accounted for 47.1 percent of all trade fair visits in 2025. Respons compiles the monitor and CLC-VECTA publishes it. The monitor covers both trade and consumer fairs held in the Netherlands.
