Korea staged 736 qualifying exhibitions in 2024. The event side is a complete enumeration, covering shows held in professional exhibition halls that ran at least two consecutive days on at least 2,000 square metres and at least 10 booths. By type there were 142 trade shows, 136 mixed shows and 458 consumer shows, of which 185 carried certification from AKEI or UFI. Together they used 7,382,350 square metres of total exhibition area and 2,371,804 square metres of net area, hosted 115,038 exhibiting companies and drew 9,530,953 visitors, including 214,528 from abroad and 2,394,318 recorded as buyers. On the business side, a separate sample survey under a new special industry classification counted 58,830 exhibition businesses with 152,785 employees and KRW 17,202,726 million in revenue. That classification widened the scope from 12 industries to 91, including upstream and downstream activity, and the report states its results are not comparable with earlier years.
