Openbare Ruimte

Openbare Ruimte is an annual B2B trade fair held in Utrecht, Netherlands, dedicated to the comprehensive scope of public and semi-public spaces. The event focuses on the design, furnishing, maintenance, and management of these environments, encompassing critical sectors such as mobility, construction, and infrastructure. Positioned as the premier platform for collaboration, Openbare Ruimte brings together government entities and businesses to collectively innovate and shape the living environment of tomorrow. The upcoming edition is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026, and Thursday, September 24, 2026, with daily hours from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The trade fair attracts a diverse target audience, including public space professionals, representatives from Dutch municipalities, and stakeholders from both the market and government sectors. The 2025 edition saw significant participation, with 7,000 visitors and over 400 companies represented by 2,000 professionals on a sold-out exhibition floor. A record 290 different Dutch municipalities showed interest in the fair that year. ExpoProof B.V., an experienced organizer of trade fairs since 2003, manages the event, which takes place at the Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs Exhibition & Convention Centre, specifically in Jaarbeurs Hallen 2-3-4.

Attendees can benefit from a rich concurrent program, which included more than 100 free sessions in 2025, with lectures visited over 3,000 times. The 'Praktijkmeester' podcast provided live coverage during the 2025 edition, offering episodes E110 and E111. The event also features an Innovation Gallery, showcasing advancements in the field. Openbare Ruimte is exclusively for professionals, who can register for free to attend.
