1. Who we are

2. Data we collect

• Account data: email address, password (stored as a hash), account status.
• Profile data you provide: company name, country, industry selections and related descriptions.
• Service data generated by your use: shows you follow, AI conversations and messages, AI tasks and their outputs, quotas and usage counters.
• Technical data: IP address (stored only as a hash for rate limiting), browser type, language preference, pages viewed and interaction events used for service analytics.
• Correspondence: messages you send us, including tips and reports submitted through the Service.

3. Purposes and legal bases

• To provide and operate the Service (performance of a contract).
• To secure the Service, prevent abuse and enforce quotas (legitimate interests).
• To improve the Service through aggregated usage analytics (legitimate interests).
• To send transactional notifications, such as the completion of an AI task (performance of a contract; you may opt out in account settings).
• Where required by law, on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

4. AI processing

Text you submit to AI features, together with relevant profile data, is processed by third-party AI providers on our behalf to generate responses. Such processing is limited to delivering the Service. Outputs are stored with your account so you can review them.

5. Service providers

We engage third-party service providers in the following categories to operate the Service: cloud hosting and content delivery, database and authentication, transactional email delivery, AI model processing, and web analytics (Google Analytics, provided by Google). Each provider processes data only under our instructions and applicable data-processing terms.

6. International transfers

The Service is operated from the United States. Where data is transferred from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or other jurisdictions with transfer restrictions, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by our processors.

7. Retention

Account and profile data are retained while your account is active. AI conversations and tasks are retained until you delete them or your account is closed. Technical logs are retained for a limited period necessary for security and analytics.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Requests may be sent to hello@alarite.com. California residents have the rights described under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete and opt out of sale; we do not sell personal data.

9. Security

We apply industry-standard technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege database policies.

10. Children

The Service is intended for business users and is not directed to persons under 18.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be indicated by a new effective date and version number on this page.

12. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies (authentication session and abuse protection; cannot be disabled while using the Service) and a preference cookie for your language selection. We also use Google Analytics, which sets analytics cookies (such as _ga) to measure how the Service is used; we use the resulting statistics only in aggregated form. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking or third-party marketing pixels. You may block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on; blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent signing in.
