2026 16th Benin (West Africa) China Commodities Exhibition Opens in Cotonou

On August 13, the 2026 16th Benin (West Africa) China Commodities Exhibition opened at the China Economic and Trade Development Center in Cotonou, Benin. Chinese Ambassador Zhang Wei, Benin Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Trade Director General Dovoedo (representing the Minister), Investment and Export Promotion Agency Director Akoute, and representatives from the foreign and economic ministries attended. Ambassador Zhang stated that active Chinese enterprise participation demonstrates confidence in the West African market. The exhibition ran August 13-16 with 137 booths and 58 participating companies. Chinese enterprises also conducted investment research visits to the Glele-Be and Seme-Podji economic zones.
