61% of UK Exhibitions Were Annual Events in 2025, Down from 64% in 2024
61% of UK exhibitions were held on an annual basis in 2025, down from 64% in 2024, leaving 39% as non-annual events, some of which are biennials. Historically the annual share stood at 67% in 2019, fell to 55% in 2022 and recovered to 64% in both 2023 and 2024. By venue, primary venues had the highest proportion of repeat events at 72%, against 49% at secondary venues and 47% at other and outdoor venues. By type, consumer exhibitions at 72% and trade exhibitions at 67% were typically annual, whereas conferences with an exhibition element were far more peripatetic, with only 30% recurring annually. EIA reads the rise in non-annual events as a sign of churn in the market, with new exhibitions and conferences coming on stream. The analysis is based on venues that have reported for at least the last three years, and the sample for other and outdoor venues was small at 114 events, so those figures should be treated with some caution.
