TAIWAN SELECT Brand Leads 194 Taiwanese Food Firms at FOODEX JAPAN 2026

The 2026 FOODEX JAPAN, Asia's largest professional food event, opened at Tokyo Big Sight with Taiwan's pavilion featuring 194 quality food companies under the TAIWAN SELECT brand. Two central ministries (Ministry of Agriculture and Council of Indigenous Peoples), 15 county/city governments, and 10 major food industry associations participated together. Taiwan's food export to Japan reached USD 700 million in 2025, comprising 16% of total food exports (2nd largest market). Products showcased included snack foods, canned goods, noodles, seafood, meat, frozen foods, tea beverages, and fermented products. Japanese celebrity Akiko Yada joined TAITRA Chairman James Huang to promote the pavilion, and Taiwanese-style cuisine was demonstrated live by Japanese food influencers.
