Alimentaria FoodTech Drives the Innovation Transforming the Food Industry

Alimentaria FoodTech has launched a new edition of its FoodTech Awards, which recognize the most innovative and disruptive solutions in technology applied to the food industry. The show, to be held from October 6 to 8 at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue, is organizing two categories: the FoodTech Innova Awards, aimed at exhibiting companies developing advanced technologies or ingredients for food production, processing or preservation, and the FoodTech Emprende Awards, focused on startups with innovative proposals and high growth potential. The deadline for submissions is July 3, with special consideration given to initiatives in automation, digitalization and sustainability. Spain's agrifoodtech ecosystem includes around 420 active startups specialized in food and technology innovation, according to the latest report by ICEX and Eatable Adventures, and is supported by more than 30,000 potentially driving companies, over 50 universities and some twenty specialized technology centers, as highlighted by show director Ricardo Márquez. The awards ceremony will take place on October 6 in the FoodTech Innovarena space. The upcoming edition expects to host some 400 exhibiting companies from 15 countries, presenting the latest innovations in machinery, technology and ingredients for the agri-food industry.
