Alimentaria+Hostelco Closes Its Most International Edition with 109,600 Visitors from 120 Countries
Alimentaria+Hostelco closed its 50th anniversary edition with record internationalization figures: 109,600 professional visitors attended over four days, 25 percent of them international from 120 countries, primarily the United States, Latin America and Europe. The show hosted 3,300 exhibitors, including 1,200 from 70 countries — 30 percent more international companies than the 2024 edition and a 40 percent increase in internationally dedicated exhibition space. Poland served as Country of Honor alongside strong Latin American and North American representation. During the event, 14,500 business meetings took place between participating companies and over 2,700 buyers and importers from 120 countries. The Horeca channel area grew 40 percent, gathering over 600 sector companies. Alimentaria president Antoni Llorens highlighted the show as an indispensable internationalization tool for the industry. Hostelco president Pere Taberner noted the dynamism of the Horeca sector. In a food bank initiative with Fundacio Banc dels Aliments, 100 volunteers collected over 20,000 kg of food and beverages donated by exhibitors. The next edition will take place March 20-23, 2028 at Gran Via, Fira de Barcelona.
