ASIME Hosts 3rd Maritime Trends Summit in Vigo

ASIME will host the 3rd International Maritime Trends Summit on February 24-25, 2026, in Vigo, bringing together over 200 national and international experts from shipyards, shipowners, port authorities, and the security and defense sectors. Day 24 features a site visit to Metalships shipyard and a networking cocktail at 19:30; Day 25 holds the main conference at Auditorio Mar de Vigo, 09:00-14:30, covering defense (Spanish Navy, Navantia, Sasemar, Detegasa), private shipyards (Armón, Metalships, Nodosa, Zamakona, Damen, West Sea Viana), shipowners (Eimskip, Höeg Autoliners), offshore wind (Navantia Seanergies), logistics (Suardiaz), and naval engineering (Ghenova). The Galician naval sector counts over 270 companies and 8,500 direct jobs, with a 90% export rate over the past decade. In 2025, the orderbook reached 34 vessels; private shipyards held contracts worth over 1.6 billion euros — 80% for foreign owners — representing 41% of the national orderbook.
