Asime Visits China with the Xunta, CZFV and Citic to Open New Industrial Opportunities
Asime took part this week in a trade mission to China's Zhejiang province, organized by the Xunta de Galicia through Igape, the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium, the Hangzhou municipal government and the multinational CITIC, an Asime member through its subsidiary Citic HIC Gándara Censa in O Porriño. The mission aimed to strengthen business and institutional cooperation between Galicia and one of China's most dynamic economic areas, with emphasis on the metal sector, advanced manufacturing, new materials, automotive, aerospace and renewables. The delegation held B2B meetings with Zhejiang Metals & Materials, Zhejiang Southwest Space Frame and CITIC HIC, and toured companies in Huzhou including SANY Equipment, Geely Changxing New Energy Vehicle and Zhejiang Jiemei Electronic Technology. Óscar Sánchez, Asime's sectoral commercial director, highlighted the Galician industry's opportunities in industrial automation, advanced manufacturing and the energy transition. The association is also promoting in China the 5th edition of the Mindtech fair, to be held at the Ifevi in Vigo from April 27 to 29, where Chinese companies have previously taken part. China is already Galicia's main trading partner in Asia: in 2025 Galician exports to the country exceeded 209 million euros, while imports reached 2.141 billion euros.
