Battery & ES Tech Europe 2026 Will Analyze the Challenges of Energy Storage
The first edition of Battery & Energy Storage Tech Europe, organized by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with 104-Media, will take place on September 8-9 at the Gran Via venue, gathering professionals from across the industrial and stationary energy-storage value chain. Its congress is structured around four pillars: industrial and emerging applications; technology outlook – BESS; recycling and second life; and policy and regulation, with around 50 executives from major energy companies, institutional representatives, technology centers and European academics expected to speak. Early confirmed speakers include Christian Barba (EDP Renewables), on integrating storage into large-scale renewable projects from an international perspective; Naim El Chami (Neoen), bringing practical insight from BESS projects currently in operation; Laura Simonelli, beamline group leader at ALBA Synchrotron; José Moisés Martín, director general of Spain's CDTI, on public funding, innovation and industrial policy; and Joan González Fabra (BEPA), on Europe's battery-ecosystem roadmap for innovation, regulation and industrial development. Jean Louis Cols (Invity Energy Systems), Dr. Josef Daniel-Ivad (International Zinc Association), Yue Jin Tay (Circulor), Francisco Carranza (Upcell Alliance), Dr. Aline Soares (Project Blue) and Dr. Radostin Pavlov (Eurecat) have also confirmed. The event combines high-level conferences with a specialized exhibition area.
