BIEMH 2026 closes 33rd edition with 74.55 million euro economic impact

BIEMH 2026, the 33rd International Machine Tool Biennial held March 2-6 at Bilbao Exhibition Centre, has closed with an economic impact of 74.55 million euros in GDP terms, tax revenues exceeding 14.4 million euros, and 1,507 jobs created. The show attracted 1,543 exhibiting companies from 34 countries and 39,063 visitors from around 65 countries. Half of all attendees came from outside the Basque Country, with hospitality accounting for 63% of the total economic impact through accommodation and dining, trade fair activities 18%, and transport 9%. More than 10,300 professionals were needed for the 31-day venue occupation. The official website exceeded 506,000 visits, up 49% on the previous edition. The next BIEMH will be held March 6-10, 2028.
