CM Malaga 2026 Will Bring Together Immersive Experiences, Artificial Intelligence and Technologies Applied to Cultural Heritage

CM Malaga, Culture & Museums International Tech Forum, will gather on June 22 and 23 at FYCMA some of the most innovative solutions driving the activity of museums, heritage sites and cultural institutions. Immersive experiences and virtual reality will be major attractions, with proposals such as 'The Metamorphoses of Guernica', 'Malaca Romana' — which allows visitors to explore the archaeological site beneath the Carmen Thyssen Malaga Museum — and 'Be Heritage', a multi-user VR proposal, alongside immersive environments inspired by the Titanic, Gaudí, the Colosseum and ancient Egypt. Artificial intelligence will feature prominently with smart personalized audio guides, interactive avatars and visitor experience analysis systems, while technology applied to heritage will include digitalization projects, digital twins and smart cultural routes, such as the European Interreg Euro-MED program. Accessibility solutions and specialized services for museums complete the offering. The forum will recognize emerging talent through the 2nd Award for Innovative and Sustainable Design for Museum Shops, whose finalists are ArtCapsule, Pieza Viva and Pintar el Pasado, and the 4th Open Call for Startups, with ArtCentrica, Escena 4.0 and QX as finalists and a special mention for Preventia, an AI platform for heritage management. Participants include the Malaga City Council, the Andalusian Regional Government, the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Government and the European Commission, which will present the geographical indications protection system for craft products (CIGI).
