CM Malaga Drives International Dialogue on the Role of Technology in Culture

CM Malaga, Culture & Museums International Tech Forum, has opened at FYCMA, consolidating its position as an international meeting space between culture, technology and innovation. More than 180 cultural entities, institutions, technology companies and startups are taking part in a two-day event combining knowledge, networking and a broad showcase of innovative solutions aimed at transforming artistic creation, heritage conservation and audience engagement. The opening ceremony featured Malaga Mayor Francisco de la Torre and the Andalusian Regional Government's acting Culture Minister Patricia del Pozo, among others, who highlighted CM Malaga's role as an international platform connecting culture, innovation and business. The forum reinforces its international character with participants from 16 countries, including Germany, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, France, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The exhibition area includes holographic applications, immersive exhibitions such as 'The Metamorphoses of Guernica', virtual reality simulations such as multi-user heritage experience 'Be Heritage' and 'Malaca Romana' — which shows in VR the archaeological site beneath the Carmen Thyssen Malaga Museum — and AI-powered audio guides. The first day hosted the 4th International Technical Sessions, with leading institutions such as Cirque du Soleil, Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris Musées, Centre des Monuments Nationaux and Columbia University's Digital Storytelling Lab. The second day will hold the 5th International Symposium on Digital Solutions in Museums and the presentation of the 4th Open Call for Startups awards and the 2nd Museum Shop Design Award.
