Construmat and the Construction Labour Foundation Promote Safety
Construmat, Fira de Barcelona's construction show, will partner with the Construction Labour Foundation (FLC) in an outreach and awareness activity on work-at-height safety, within the program of Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026, a distinction granted by UNESCO and the UIA. The action will take place on May 16-17 in Barcelona's Cathedral square, with practical demonstrations and training spaces for professionals and the general public: a counterweighted tubular structure for emergency rescue exhibitions, a mobile elevating work platform and the FLC's mobile classroom equipped with personal protective equipment to didactically show the necessary preventive measures. Construmat president Xavier Vilajoana stressed the importance of training and prevention for the sector's development, while FLC manager Lucía López Alé highlighted the goal of bringing construction closer to society and guaranteeing safety and professionalization. With this and other actions planned throughout the year, Construmat lays the foundations of its 25th edition, to be held from May 18 to 20, 2027 at the Gran Via venue, which, according to show director Roger Bou, will grow in exhibition offering and content.
