Classical Dressage and Working Equitation Add Two National Competitions to the Second Day of Equina Galicia 2026
Equina Galicia 2026, taking place from July 10 to 12 at the Feira Internacional de Galicia ABANCA venue (Silleda, Pontevedra), will feature nine major competitions. Of these, seven will be held exclusively on the event's second day, focused on classical dressage and working equitation. In classical dressage, for the first time the event will include a two-star National Competition of the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation, a technically demanding category requiring one of the judges to hold international three-star status, and will debut an ANCCE Classical Dressage Cup, a SICAB qualifier and currently the only one in northern Spain. The Concello de Silleda Cup also debuts, while the Turismo Rías Baixas Cup, the Galician Equestrian Federation Territorial — a qualifier for the Galician Dressage Championship —, the 27th Accega Cup and the 8th Xunta de Galicia Trophy return; the latter is open to all European sport horse breeds, from children's to Olympic categories. The high level of these events has brought the number of horse-and-rider pairs to around fifty from across Spain, requiring reinforced work teams and the conditioning of two arenas, consolidating the event as Galicia's largest in classical dressage participation. July 11 will also host the 3rd Working Equitation Federation Trial, counting toward the national championship for the second consecutive year, with close to twenty entrants from six regions. The program also includes a conference on artificial intelligence and the Purebred Spanish Horse, a saddle fitting clinic and introductory riding for children. Admission will be free.
