DS Industry: A New Event for a More Competitive, Sustainable and Decarbonized Industry

DS – Decarbonized & Sustainable Industry will gather industry at Bilbao Exhibition Centre from November 3 to 5. The new event, presented at a press conference by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the Basque Government and BEC, is born to accelerate industry's transition toward a more competitive, sustainable and decarbonized model, with internationality, innovation and the resolution of real technical challenges as its objectives. According to Mario Goffard, BEC's commercial director, all conditions are in place to position the event as a benchmark aspiring to become a world summit, given the Basque Country's industrial capabilities, energy infrastructure and technological know-how in energy and environment. The proposal will be structured around three pillars: Knowledge, with a congress organized into Technology, Industrial Circularity and Electro-intensive Sectors tracks, addressing the challenges of industries such as cement, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, ceramics, refining and steelmaking; Innovation, with an exhibition area gathering companies such as Dominion, Iberdrola, Petronor, Sener, TAMOIN and Tecnalia, plus specialized workshops, a startup area and a talent hub; and Networking, with B2B meetings, technical visits, the DS Awards and a gala dinner. Companies that have already expressed interest in visiting include ArcelorMittal, GESTAMP, Siemens Gamesa, Sidenor, FAES Farma, Air Liquide and AENA. The event is organized by BEC with Iberdrola and Petronor as platinum sponsors and the institutional support of the Bizkaia Provincial Council and the Basque Government.
