ECUEXTRE Reaffirms Its Leadership as the Peninsula's Great Horse and Bull Gathering

After four days of intense activity, ECUEXTRE, the Horse and Bull Fair, closed its 17th edition at IFEBA, consolidating its position as one of the leading equestrian and bullfighting events of the Iberian Peninsula. More than 350 horses, close to 150 riders and around one hundred stud farms took part in a program that brought together some of the most outstanding competitions of the national and international calendar, including the 1st Iberian Classical Dressage Cup, the International Morphological Festival and Spanish Championship of the Purebred Lusitano Horse, and the Pura Raza Española Morphological Contest, a qualifier for SICAB 2026. Among the winners, the Best Breeder recognition for Purebred Lusitano went to Dressage Top, of AS Sport Horses; the 1st Iberian Classical Dressage Cup crowned the horse Nautico Das Figueiras, owned by Coudelaria António Maria Simões and ridden by Claudio Castilla Ruiz; and Gardenia Torreluna and Deber Bat were proclaimed adult champions of the Pura Raza Española contest, with Yeguada Batán distinguished as Best Stud Farm. The 'Toreros de Plata' exhibition paid tribute to 26 essential professionals of the bullfighting ranks, with a special homage to the admired banderillero Manolo Montoliú, and matador Alejandro Talavante was recognized on the twentieth anniversary of his alternativa. The ECUEXTRE 2026 Award went to the Extremaduran Association of Pura Raza Española Horse Breeders, in an edition that once again demonstrated the fair's capacity to generate economic activity and attract visitors from both sides of the border.
