Egurtek XI Edition Scheduled for October 28-29 at Bilbao Exhibition Centre
Egurtek, the International Forum on Timber Architecture and Construction, will hold its 11th edition on October 28 and 29, 2026, at Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC). Following the success of 2024, the forum returns to reaffirm its commitment to promoting wood as a key material in fighting climate change and driving innovation in sustainable building. The congress will bring together leading figures from global architecture to present their most significant timber projects, continuing a tradition with speakers such as Shigeru Ban, David Chipperfield (Pritzker Prize), Philippe Madec, Michael Green, and others. The Technical Sessions, organized by Baskegur (the Basque Timber Association), will address critical sector topics. The Expo Zone and Innovation Workshops will showcase the latest solutions in engineering, structural software, interior design, and sustainable construction. The Egurtek Awards ceremony will recognize the best projects in architecture, interior design, product design, the special BEM prizes, and Basque Quality local timber. Submissions are open until May 4, 2026, at 12:00. The forum is organized by Bilbao Exhibition Centre with the Basque Government as institutional partner.
