The Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress will gather Europe's cybersecurity ecosystem

The seventh edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress (BCC), organised by Fira de Barcelona and the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, will be held from 3 to 5 November in Hall 2 of the Gran Via venue, jointly with the Smart City Expo World Congress to leverage the synergies between urban digitalisation and digital protection. Against a backdrop of booming artificial intelligence and growing system interconnectivity, the BCC will bring together around a hundred exhibitors and expects 6,000 cybersecurity professionals. Its offer includes a congress addressing digital resilience, critical infrastructure protection and security in connected environments; a Hacking Village where ethical hackers will demonstrate their skills; a Showcase Corner for innovative solutions; a Networking Hub featuring Europe's main cybersecurity bodies; The Startup Cyber Experience for emerging companies; and the CISO Global Leadership Awards honouring the sector's leading executives. BCC president and agency director Laura Caballero highlighted the congress's role as 'a strategic meeting point for the sector', while event director Flavia Santoro said cybersecurity must be treated as a strategic priority amid accelerating digital transformation. The figures underline the urgency: in 2025 Spain's INCIBE registered 122,223 cybersecurity incidents, up 26% on 2024, while the Catalan agency handled 6,544 unique incidents — almost double the previous year — and detected more than 9.1 billion attempted attacks, 32% more.
