Circular plastic takes shape in an exhibition of real-world cases at Equiplast

Equiplast, Fira de Barcelona's plastics show, will host from 2 to 5 June at the Gran Via venue an exhibition of ten real applications showcasing the potential of recycled, recyclable or renewable-origin plastics. Part of the Rethinking Plastic space, the display gathers prototypes from companies and technology centres: a barrel-shaped installation by Aimplas recreating how olive-grove and vineyard waste is turned into boxes, caps and coasters; a recycled low-density polyethylene (rLDPE) from Fych Technologies suitable for food contact; Citysens' Motus self-watering planters made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic; modular urban benches by Hoc and Unnom manufactured entirely from recycled plastics, including carton-derived materials; Indresmat's Klima Pur insulation and window-frame system; 100% recycled pallets from Inka Palet; a three-layer industrial drum by Enplast incorporating 50% post-consumer recycled material; an eco-designed battery module by Radicigroup; and Lati's engineering thermoplastics for electrical protection devices obtained through chemical recycling. During the show, the Rethinking Plastic Awards will honour the three most innovative solutions, and the space is rounded out by a congress of some 50 sessions with around a hundred speakers. Equiplast will gather 400 exhibitors from 16 countries, 12% more than the previous edition, consolidating it as the Iberian market's leading plastics event.
