Caravaning Show drives Spain's next White Paper on the sector

The International Caravaning Show of Fira de Barcelona, together with sector associations ASEICAR and GREMCAR, is promoting a White Paper on Spain's caravaning sector, to be produced by the Tornare MarSenses | Septeo | AEDH Foundation Chair at the Universidad Europea de Madrid. The conclusions, due at the end of 2026, will map the economic, social and environmental impact of this form of tourism and its recent evolution, updating the last available study, from 2007. The research will combine sector data analysis, academic work and interviews with companies, associations and other key players, examining the sector's growth, its impact on destinations, new traveller profiles and the challenges of sustainability, territorial planning and digitalisation. Show director Josep Antoni Llopart said the initiative will provide knowledge to strengthen caravaning's future prospects, while Mariló Martínez García, dean at the Universidad Europea de Madrid, stressed the university's commitment to rigorous research on this fast-changing form of tourism. The show, Spain's leading event in the sector and one of Europe's foremost, gathered 180 exhibitors, more than 700 vehicles and over 60,000 visitors at its last edition, and will hold its 38th edition from 16 to 24 October 2027.
