Spanish wine will show its great diversity at Barcelona Wine Week 2027

Barcelona Wine Week (BWW) is advancing preparations for its 2027 edition, to be held from 8 to 10 February in halls 1 and 2 of Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc venue: more than six months ahead, over 90% of its exhibition space is already booked. The show expects to gather 1,300 exhibiting companies, more than 90 designations of origin and other quality seals, and the participation of 16 Spanish regions, with iconic names such as DOC Priorat and DOCa Rioja alongside DO Cava, DO Ribera del Duero, DO Rías Baixas and DO Penedès, and wineries and groups including Freixenet, Raventós Codorníu, Marqués de Cáceres, La Rioja Alta and Juvé & Camps. Aged wines — references with at least ten years of evolution — will form the backbone of the tastings, conferences and training programme, celebrating longevity as a mark of excellence. BWW's new president, Raquel Pérez, who also chairs the DOCa Rioja, stresses the model built on territories and designations as an effective platform for business, positioning and internationalisation. On the international front, more than 13,500 business meetings are expected, with a buyer-recruitment strategy targeting priority markets (the US, Germany, the UK, France, the Netherlands and Canada) and high-potential destinations such as South Korea, Japan and Brazil. According to ICEX, Spanish wine exports reached 2,982.3 million euros in 2025, 2.8% less than the previous year — a backdrop that reinforces the show's role in projecting quality Spanish wine abroad.
