Wine Moves to the Stove: Gastrónoma and AEPEV Launch the 1st National Cooking with Wine Competition
Gastrónoma and the Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers (AEPEV) have created the 1st National Cooking with Wine Competition, the first state-wide contest placing wine at the center of gastronomic creation as a fundamental ingredient. The final will be held October 27 at Feria Valencia before a jury of chefs, food journalists and wine specialists, and the competition offers 10,000 euros in prizes, one of the highest amounts among such culinary contests in Spain. The competition is part of Wine Experience, Gastrónoma's space dedicated to the wine universe, which maintains its tasting rooms, the wine tunnel and championships such as the Sparkling Wine Master. AEPEV president José Luis Murcia stressed that wine 'is not just an accompaniment, it is also an ingredient'. The rules and registration calendar will be published soon on the competition's official website, open to chefs from across the country.
