Equiplast Awards Three Sustainable Products for Packaging and Urban Furniture

CitySens' biophilic planter, Enplast's three-layer drum and Unnom's modular bench are the winners of the Rethinking Plastic Awards, presented during Equiplast. These three innovative solutions confirm that plastic waste can be transformed into new products useful for industry, cities and consumers. The award in the 'Construction and furniture' category went to Motus, by CitySens Lab, a line of planters designed under a biophilic approach — a movement in architecture and interior design aimed at reconnecting people with nature — made with 100% recycled plastic from post-consumer waste, featuring self-watering and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Enplast received the award in the sustainable plastic packaging category for its industrial three-layer drum produced with 50% post-consumer recycled material, a technology that allows recycled material to be used in the container's central layer without losing properties. The special Rethinking Plastic circularity award went to ARTdECO, modular benches developed by Unnom made entirely from recycled plastics, including materials from beverage cartons, designed for easy assembly, repair and reuse. The Rethinking Plastic showroom, open to Equiplast visitors, displays more than a dozen real applications highlighting the potential of recycled, recyclable or renewable-origin plastic. Equiplast and Expoquimia are being held at the Gran Via venue, bringing together more than 800 exhibitors.
