ExpoÓptica 2026 opens its 35th edition with exhibition figures 10% above 2024 and 29% international participation
ExpoÓptica, the optics, optometry and audiology show organised by IFEMA MADRID, opens its 35th edition running 9 to 11 April, exceeding the 2024 exhibition figures by 10%. The show brings together 130 direct exhibitors covering ophthalmic and contact lenses, frames, sunglasses, optical and hearing instruments, hearing aids, equipment for optical retailers, software and specialist training. International participation reaches 29%, representing a 48% increase in foreign companies compared with 2024. The organisers framed the edition against Spanish visual health data: according to the 2025 White Paper on Visual Health in Spain, 80% of Spaniards have vision problems but only 61% use glasses or contact lenses to correct them, and up to 30% do not have their eyes checked regularly.
