Feria Valencia Solar Plant Cuts 780 Tonnes of CO2 Annually, Saving 40% on Energy Bills

Feria Valencia has presented results from its rooftop photovoltaic installation on the new pavilions, covering 12,000 square metres with a capacity of 2,450 kilowatts per year. The plant produces an estimated 3.33 million kilowatt-hours annually, avoiding approximately 780 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year — equivalent to 3.5 times the absorption capacity of all trees in the Jardin del Turia (around 10,100 trees). The installation generates enough electricity for 900 homes and is expected to reduce Feria Valencia energy costs by around 40%. The project, carried out by Ferrovial and Iberdrola, was funded by the Valencian regional government at a cost of 2.8 million euros through the European NextGenerationEU program via the PRTR recovery plan and the PIREP public building rehabilitation scheme. Feria Valencia President and Industry Councillor Marian Cano highlighted the project as part of the regional sustainability policy. General Director Mariano Clemente described it as a strategic investment advancing the venue toward a model meeting new sustainability standards increasingly decisive in selecting sites for international fairs and congresses.
