FIMA 2026 Day 3: Technology and Innovation Drive Agricultural Forum in Zaragoza

Day 3 of FIMA 2026, held on February 12 at Feria de Zaragoza, focused on technology, digitalisation, and rural development. The FIMA TECH zone in Pavilion 8 hosted the Start Up Forum, gathering startups in sustainability, biotech, robotics, and precision agriculture, alongside the Agroinfluencers Roundtable on the future of rural talent and technology. The ZINNAE-organised session on Agro 5.0 addressed water resilience and sustainability in modern farming. Pavilion 9 featured sessions on digitalisation organised by four Spanish universities and Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España, and the second session of AGRICLUSTER INNOVATION SUMMER 2026. The X National Rural Development Forum continued its second day in the Congress Centre, examining rural challenges in the new geopolitical and technological context. Ibercaja presented a session on AI as a driver of agri-food sector competitiveness, while the Ministry of Agriculture featured Plan RENOVE to support farm mechanisation renewal. Other highlights included Bayer presenting AI-assisted pesticide residue prediction, Viveros Verón launching the Fruit Innovation Hub Verón, and Veggadigital showcasing real-time fertigation monitoring tools. Commercial missions organised by Feria de Zaragoza ran throughout the day in Pavilion 7, alongside anniversary events for brands including Stihl and John Deere.
