Fira de Barcelona annual economic impact surpasses €6.1 billion in 2024

The annual economic impact of Fira de Barcelona reached €6.143 billion in 2024, a 28.1% increase from €4.796 billion in 2019, according to a study by the University of Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB). The activity generates a Gross Value Added (GVA) of €2.96 billion — equivalent to 1.02% of Catalonia's GDP — and supports 49,423 full-time jobs. Tax revenues totalled €1.225 billion. Exhibitor and visitor spending contributed over €2.418 billion, driven by 19,964 direct exhibitors (more than half international) and 1.8 million visitors to the main annual fairs. Business creation accounts for 53.4% of total impact (€3.283 billion). The new Zero pavilion at Gran Via will add an estimated €675 million in annual impact from 2027, expanding venue capacity by 25%.
