FITURNEXT Registers More Than 350 Candidate Initiatives for Its 2027 Challenge on Tourism and Cultural Identity

FITURNEXT, the FITUR Observatory dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism best practices, has already identified more than 350 candidate initiatives from five continents for its 2027 Challenge, focused on how tourism can contribute to preserving and promoting cultural identity. Of these, 9 will be finalists and 3 will be winners at the next edition of FITUR, to be held January 20-24, 2027 at IFEMA MADRID. The challenge is structured around three categories: heritage revitalization and regeneration, community-driven identity-based tourism initiatives, and the creation of tourism products based on identity. The call remains open until the end of August. Over its eight editions, the Observatory has analyzed more than 2,000 initiatives, and its podcast Destino FITURNEXT continues with a second season, now also on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
