FYCMA Highlights the Strategic Value of Trade Fairs on Global Exhibitions Day
FYCMA (Trade Fairs and Congress Center of Malaga), owned by the Malaga City Council, joins the celebration of Global Exhibitions Day (GED) on June 3. The initiative, promoted by UFI-The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, holds its eleventh edition under the theme 'Exhibitions generate opportunities', highlighting how the benefits of this activity transcend the commercial sphere and positively impact people, organizations and the planet. Spain is one of the countries with the highest trade fair activity in Europe, alongside Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Turkey, according to the Spanish Trade Fairs Association (AFE). The industry has an estimated impact of 13.6 billion euros, a GDP contribution of 6.9 billion and generates 124,400 direct and indirect jobs, according to an Oxford Economics study prepared for AFE with 2024 data. FYCMA has positioned itself as one of Spain's most relevant fair organizers with its own events such as H&T, Transfiere, CM Malaga, Guadalindie, Greencities and Simed, alongside events by national and international operators such as DES – Digital Enterprise Show. In 2025, the venue hosted 25 fairs and events with significant commercial exhibition, bringing together 2,633 exhibiting companies, with an estimated economic impact exceeding 265 million euros, 37% more than the previous year.
