Handmade Festival Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary at the Montjuïc Venue

From May 14 to 17, Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc venue hosts the fifteenth edition of the Handmade Festival, the benchmark show for "Do It Yourself" culture, with an expanded offering and free admission. Organized by Evident Events and aimed at bringing creativity and crafts to all audiences, the event gathers in hall 2 more than 100 workshops, some fifty exhibitors from fields such as DIY, paper and textiles, and new themed areas. The program includes workshops for all levels and disciplines — lettering, embroidery, candle making and furniture restoration — plus more than a dozen free masterclasses, including kintsugi, the ancestral Japanese ceramic-repair technique, 3D painting with Fly&Flot markers that create real volume and texture, color therapy, modeling and canvas texture work. Coinciding with its anniversary, the festival launches the Ceramic Lab, a parallel event devoted exclusively to ceramics and pottery, conceived as a meeting point for professionals with activities open to the general public: introduction to the potter's wheel, vase engraving and mold-based figure making, responding to the growing interest in ceramics as a creative and therapeutic activity. The edition is rounded off with exhibitions such as "BCN, jardí de rajoles", on modernist hydraulic floor tiles, a tactile show by artist Rebeka Gallego, open-air concerts and a food zone.
