Iberzoo Propet 2026 presents IBERPET Awards and rebrands to IBERPET; pet industry reports 36.7 billion euros turnover in Spain

Iberzoo Propet 2026 held its La Tarde del Sector event at IFEMA MADRID on 13 March, presenting the IBERPET Awards and announcing the fair rebrand to IBERPET. Award winners: Best Retailer, Zoolandia Valencia; Best Professional Career in Business, Joan Icart, founder of Piensos Picart (over 70 years); Best Professional Career in Veterinary, Felipe Vilas, UCM veterinary doctor and lifelong professor; Best Petfriendly Company, Melia Hotels International; Best Petfluencer, Victor Algra (@unveterinario, La Sexta). The shared AMVAC Solidarity Prize went to Alas Gambia and ASHEMADRID. AMVAC presented its 3rd Pet-parent Barometer for Spain 2026, while AEDPAC reported the pet industry reached a global turnover of 36,681 million euros (2.3 percent of GDP) in 2025, supporting 44,500 direct and over 356,000 indirect jobs, serving a population of over 30 million pets in Spain.
