Iberzoo Propet 2026 to Host Launch of Third Spanish Pet Owner Survey and Inaugural Pet-Friendly Barometer
Iberzoo Propet 2026 will host the presentation of two landmark studies at La Tarde del Sector on March 12: the third Barometro de los petparents en Espana and the inaugural pet-friendly Barometro. Both reports were produced by AEDPAC, the Spanish pet industry association, with Hamilton providing technical direction. The Barometro de los petparents tracks the evolving profile of Spanish pet owners and their purchasing behavior. Key figures from the 2025 edition show 52% of Spanish households own a pet, with 89% treating the animal as a full family member -- 77% include pets in family photos and 76% buy Christmas gifts for them, spending an average of 26 euros per pet. The new pet-friendly Barometro assesses how well Spanish cities and businesses accommodate pets across hospitality, transport, leisure, and other sectors. Together the two studies cover emotional bonding, economic impact and spending patterns, retail and online purchase channels, veterinary influence on buying decisions, and adoption of smart tech-pet devices such as GPS trackers and health monitoring apps. The launch takes place during Iberzoo Propet 2026, Spains leading trade fair for the companion animal sector.
