Iberzoo Propet 2026 Spotlights a 37 Billion Euro Spanish Pet Industry

The Spanish pet sector generates 36.681 billion euros annually, representing 2.3% of GDP and supporting 44,500 direct jobs alongside 356,000 indirect roles. With over 30 million pets including 9.3 million dogs, 7.8 million fish and aquarium species, 5.8 million cats and 7.9 million small mammals, Spain ranks among the largest pet markets in Europe. Iberzoo Propet 2026, scheduled for 11-13 March at IFEMA Madrid, will host more than 300 exhibiting companies representing approximately 1,200 brands. The show will feature the third edition of the AEDPAC Barometer on pet-owner habits and the first pet-friendly barometer in Spain. Sector R&D investment through Veteindustria reaches 18% of revenue, highlighting the innovation commitment across the industry. The fair consolidates its position as the leading Iberian professional platform for pet products, services and veterinary care.
