Aeronautical supply chain meets in Galicia to strengthen the sector's competitiveness and resilience

Around a hundred companies from Spain's aeronautical supply chain gathered at the Parque Tecnolóxico de Galicia (Tecnópole) for the conference 'Aeronautics: innovation and resilience in the supply chain', organised by TEDAE with the Galician cluster ASIME. The event was opened by César Ramos, director general of TEDAE; Ricardo Rojas, president of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus Spain; and Rebeca Acebrón, vice-president of ASIME. Ramos called for a new Aeronautical Technology Plan and full integration into initiatives such as AeroExcellence ahead of the future single-aisle aircraft programme, while Rojas stressed that the supply chain is key to meeting delivery targets and decarbonising the industry, at a time when, as noted at the event, major manufacturers have a backlog of more than 17,000 aircraft. Acebrón highlighted that Galicia's aerospace industry surpassed 1,700 direct jobs and 165 million euros in revenue in 2024. According to the PwC report for TEDAE, Spain's aeronautical sector turned over more than 11.3 billion euros in 2024 with nearly 50,000 direct jobs. The day included a round table, B2B meetings and a visit to COASA (Aernnova Group).
