Galiforest Abanca 2026 will reward the new technologies and processes transforming the forestry sector

The eighth edition of the Galiforest Abanca forestry show, to be held from 2 to 4 July on the woodland and facilities of the Sergude Agricultural Training and Experimentation Centre (Boqueixón, A Coruña), will once again recognise forestry innovation through its 8th Technological Innovation Contest. The event, organised by the Feira Internacional de Galicia ABANCA with the support of the Xunta de Galicia, will distinguish the machines, products, services and processes that stand out for improvements in design, work quality and performance among those carrying out the same task. Entries may include products, equipment and installations, systems and methods, technologies, programmes and services, which an expert jury will assess for significant improvements in materials, reliability, sustainability, occupational safety or ergonomics. The innovations will be presented by exhibitors and can be seen in the exhibition area throughout the three-day show. The Galiforest Abanca 2026 Innovation Award and special mentions will be announced and presented on the opening day, 2 July. At the 2024 edition, the prize went to Ecoforst's T-Winch mobile traction winch, presented by Hitraf, designed to secure machinery and operators on difficult terrain; mentions went to Pattones Robert's cut-resistant, anti-vibration gloves, the RoboPlus remote-controlled tool carrier from Murat-Energreen — the world's first radio-controlled machine with a 100 hp Stage V engine — and Forest Pioneer's eucalyptus and pine harvester-feller made in Galicia.
