Galiforest Abanca 2026 will recognise the forestry sector's innovative talent among eighteen cutting-edge entries

The Galiforest Abanca 2026 forestry show, running from 2 to 4 July at the Sergude Agricultural Training and Experimentation Centre (Boqueixón), will recognise sector innovation through its Technological Innovation Contest, which has attracted eighteen entries presented by exhibitors. They include 2BForest's mobile apps ForestSIM Mobile and ForestCAD for sustainable forest management and land registration using drones and GPS; high-resolution forest inventories by Aerobur Sistemas-Fundación Cesefor; AGACAL's project to upcycle eucalyptus bark as a growing substrate to replace peat; Forest Pioneer's FPlink smart connectivity system; Fravizel's Gravity trunk shaker for pine cone harvesting; Guifor Noroeste's IHC intelligent processor-head control; Noremat's VSV multifunction road-maintenance vehicle presented by Hitraf; and a robotic, intelligent and connected forestry crane by Industrias Guerra. Murat submits four innovations, including the RoboCompact radio-controlled tool carrier able to work on slopes of up to 61 degrees and the self-propelled ILF Kommunal with a 3,500-litre firefighting tank. The list is completed by Serex's Il Cubatore log-measuring grapple, Talleres Gándara's tractor-and-mulcher combination, Talleres Turquino's Kobelco forestry excavator and Tocarama's lightweight fire-resistant safety boots and anti-heatstroke gear. The Innovation Award and special mentions will be presented on the opening day, 2 July.
