The Expoquimia 2026 Gala Dinner
To mark its 60th anniversary, Expoquimia will hold a new edition of its Gala Dinner on 3 June, one of the most prominent social events of Spain's chemical sector. The evening will take place in the Oval Hall of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) and will gather 700 executives from leading companies, professional associations and institutional representatives, championing chemistry's transformative capacity in the process industries and its essential role in delivering the green transition without losing competitiveness. The gala will feature a keynote by Katja Scharpwinkel, member of the executive board of BASF SE and former vice-president of the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic), offering an international perspective on the sector's outlook and chemistry's role in Europe's reindustrialisation; Spain's Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, is expected to attend. Representatives of manufacturing sectors that use chemical solutions will also be present, including plastics, whose Equiplast fair runs alongside Expoquimia. The organisers count on the support of firms such as BASF, Covestro, Siemens, Carburos Metálicos, Quimidroga, FEIQUE and the IQS. From 2 to 5 June, Expoquimia and Equiplast, both organised by Fira de Barcelona, expect to gather 800 exhibitors and attract more than 21,000 visitors, focusing on the sustainable transformation of production processes.
