Citizen Services Week gathers 21,000 professionals at IFEMA MADRID

IFEMA MADRID closed its Citizen Services Week, which over three days brought together close to 21,000 trade visitors, more than 400 participating companies and 600 speakers across TECMA, SRR, the Madrid Cities Forum, SocioCARE and Global Mobility Call. TECMA, the urban planning and environment fair opened by Industry Minister Jordi Hereu, attracted around 15,000 visitors and 150 exhibitors, while the Cities Forum gathered 1,200 participants across 35 sessions with 220 speakers and hosted ATEGRUS's 20th Escobas Awards, honouring 120 initiatives in urban cleaning and waste management. Recycling fair SRR drew 5,000 professionals; within it, the Spanish recovery federation FER's 23rd congress called for European industrial sovereignty — a sector already generating 30,000 direct jobs in Spain — and SIGRAUTO's end-of-life vehicles meeting gathered 400 experts, where the European Commission's Jaco Huisman said the new EU ELV regulation could be published between July and October 2026. The 1st European Care Expo Congress (SocioCARE) attracted 800 socio-healthcare professionals, and the fourth Global Mobility Call exceeded 5,000 visitors, featuring the España Auto CEO Summit with Iveco, Toyota and Stellantis and debate on Spain's target of 5.5 million electric vehicles by 2030, closing with the launch of the Global Mobility Commitment as a permanent working agenda.
