The series 'Anatomía de un instante' and 'ABC Cultural' win the Liber 2026 Awards

The television series 'Anatomía de un instante' and the supplement 'ABC Cultural' have received the Liber 2026 Awards for Best Audiovisual Adaptation of a Literary Work and for Promoting Reading in the Media, honours granted annually by the Spanish Federation of Publishers' Guilds (FGEE) within the framework of the Liber international book fair. Directed by Alberto Rodríguez and written by Rafael Cobos, Fran Araújo and Rodríguez himself from Javier Cercas's book of the same name, the Movistar Plus+ original series, produced by José Manuel Lorenzo (DLO Producciones) in association with ARTE France, reconstructs the 23-F attempted coup d'état and premiered in November 2025; the jury also highlighted the challenge of translating a work of great narrative and documentary complexity to the screen. In the media category, the award recognises the track record of 'ABC Cultural', created in 1991 by Luis María Anson and currently directed by Jesús García Calero, as a benchmark space for literary criticism and cultural debate over 35 years. The awards will be presented on 30 September at the MNAC in Barcelona as part of Liber 2026's activities, where the Regional Library of Murcia will also be honoured and the 'Boixareu Ginesta' bookshop of the year prize, the most outstanding Ibero-American author and the Liber Tribute will be announced. The fair, from 29 September to 1 October at the Gran Via venue, will gather 250 publishers and companies.
