Matter Will Bring to Feria Habitat Valencia an Exhibition on How Materials Reinvent Themselves to Respond to Their Time
Matter, a materials prescription, consulting and management company, will present from September 28 to October 1 at Feria Habitat Valencia, opposite the nude Salon in Hall 6, an exhibition to discover, touch and rethink matter. The show starts from a simple idea: the materials we have used for centuries — wood, stone, clay, concrete and metal — are not immutable resources but living agents that transform, hybridize and reinvent themselves to respond to the demands of their time. The proposal addresses a deeper concern — a materiality up to the standards of its time — in a context that invites reflection: more than 100 billion tonnes of materials are consumed each year and less than 7% return to a circular cycle, while close to 80% of a project's environmental impact is decided in the design phase. It is precisely in material choice that Matter positions itself as an interlocutor, translating innovation into informed, viable decisions. More than a catalog, the exhibition will organize materiality around origin, technology and reuse, allowing visitors to touch, compare and understand how the same material can assume very different identities depending on how it is worked. Feria Valencia will host from September 28 to October 1 the joint celebration of Feria Habitat Valencia, Textilhogar, Espacio Cocina SICI and the new 360 by Cevisama initiative — a comprehensive, multi-sector event expected to exceed 110,000 square meters of exhibition space with close to 1,500 exhibiting firms and brands.
