Moeve, L'Oréal Groupe, Lefance and Almirall, Best-in-Class at Expoquimia 2026

Expoquimia 2026, Fira de Barcelona's International Meeting of Chemistry and Process Industries, has named its four best-in-class projects, which will be recognized at the Gala Dinner on June 3 in the Oval Hall of the MNAC — a dinner with more than 700 representatives marking the show's 60th anniversary — and will star in the "Industry Showcase" conference space. The winners are: Moeve's new plant in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva), the first in Spain to produce isopropyl alcohol (IPA), integrated into the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley and backed by an investment of more than 80 million euros; L'Oréal Groupe's factory in Burgos, an international benchmark in water efficiency thanks to its closed-loop Waterloop system, which saved 67,000 m³ of water in 2025, equivalent to 27 Olympic pools; sustainable fashion firm Lefance, for accessories made with Beyond Leather's Leap® material, obtained from apple waste and enabled by Covestro's water-based INSQIN® coating technology; and Almirall's digitalized plant in Sant Andreu de la Barca, featuring AI and a digital twin for real-time energy decisions. In parallel, Equiplast will grant its best-in-class award to SEAT & CUPRA for their circular strategy using materials such as SEAQUAL® YARN and Dinamica® microfiber (73% recycled polyester). Both shows run June 2-5 with over 800 exhibitors and 21,000 professionals expected.
