PATA PATA 2026 Confirms Its Success, Bringing Together Nearly 1,400 Companion Animals and Thousands of Attendees at EXPOCoruña

PATA PATA 2026, the Companion Animals and Pet-Friendly Tourism Fair, closed its weekend run at EXPOCoruña with a very positive outcome: nearly 1,400 companion animals and around 8,000 attendees over two days, despite coinciding with A Coruña's first weekend of summer-like temperatures. With more than 80 exhibitors, the event consolidates itself as a benchmark in Galicia and northwestern Spain, combining leisure, outreach and awareness around animal welfare. Standout figures include the distribution of 4,300 special pet ice creams made by Bico de Xeado. Exhibition highlights featured "Trudi", a Guardia Civil canine-unit border collie specialized in detecting poisoned baits and animal remains, and the CASAGA rescue-dog demonstration, including a harness descent simulating operations in hard-to-reach areas. On Sunday, the Ágora Space hosted talks on training, health, stress management between dogs and owners, first aid and pet bereavement, with practical workshops by ACBA. At the close, Tiendanimal delivered 600 kilos of food to the shelters in the Adoption Space. The fair is organized by Ouvirmos and EXPOCoruña, with support from the A Coruña Provincial Council and the Xunta de Galicia, and sponsorship from Tiendanimal, Abeiro Veterinary Hospital and Resnova Motor.
