ECUEXTRE 2026 Presented: The Great Iberian Event for Horses and Bulls
Elena Salgado, councilor for Feria Badajoz IFEBA, together with ECUEXTRE director Pepa Dueñas, has presented the 17th edition of ECUEXTRE, the Horse and Bull Fair, to be held from June 11 to 14 at the Feria Badajoz IFEBA facilities. The fair will occupy the entire venue, with more than 30,000 square meters dedicated to competitions, exhibitions, commercial activities, gastronomy and leisure, bringing together more than 350 horses, around 150 riders and close to one hundred purebred stud farms and breeders from Spain and Portugal. Highlights among the competitions include the International Morphological Festival and Spanish Championship of the Purebred Lusitano Horse, the 10th Pura Raza Española Morphological Contest — a three-star qualifier for SICAB 2026 — and, as the major novelty, the 1st Iberian Classical Dressage Cup, jointly promoted by the Portuguese and Spanish Lusitano breeders' associations, which will crown in Badajoz the best Lusitano dressage horse of the entire Iberian Peninsula. The themed exhibition 'Toreros de Plata' will pay tribute to 26 respected banderilleros and picadors of the national bullfighting scene, and Extremaduran bullfighter Alejandro Talavante will be honored on the twentieth anniversary of his alternativa. The ECUEXTRE Iberian Award will go to the Extremaduran Association of Pura Raza Española Horse Breeders (AECCPRE). Tickets cost 3 euros, with free admission for children under 12 and seniors over 65.
