Chemistry and Plastics Join Forces to Transform Industries at Expoquimia and Equiplast
From June 2 to 5, Expoquimia and Equiplast, the leading events for Spain's chemical and plastics industries, will be held jointly at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue. With 35% more companies than in 2023, the two shows will bring together 800 exhibitors and 200 knowledge and networking activities featuring 400 speakers, occupying 26,000 net square meters in Halls 2 and 3 — a 25% increase in stand area over the previous edition — and expect to attract more than 21,000 professional visitors. Exhibitors include leading firms such as Air Liquide, BASF, Covestro and Arburg. Expoquimia's program will revolve around the Industry Showcase, a new edition of FEIQUE's Smart Chemistry forum and the Mediterranean Congress of Chemical Engineering (MeCCE), while Equiplast will debut Rethinking Plastic, a congress focused on circular economy and recycling. Both shows will celebrate their anniversaries — 60 years of Expoquimia and 40 of Equiplast — with a Gala Dinner on June 3 at the MNAC gathering more than 700 executives. According to FEIQUE, Spain's chemical industry generates over 85 billion euros in annual turnover with exports of close to 63 billion euros, while the plastics industry generates around 29 billion euros, equivalent to 2% of national GDP.
